US
News ranks America's colleges every year based on factors such as
teacher to student ratios. However, US News also takes acceptance to
attendance ratios into consideration, which has been criticized by
many as meaningless.
TopSmart's
College Ranking
TopSmart
believes that college rankings are based on personal preference. In
other words, your number one school may be the one your father went
to while someone else may believe that Oxford is the number one
school in the world. To help you determine what your number one
school is, we have created a list of factors that you should
consider in your own college ranking system.
1.
Atmosphere - are your peers partiers or studiers? Does that matter
to you? Is the campus classic or modern? Do you like the way the
students and teachers interact? Is is a safe learning environment?
2.
College prestige - do people know that your college is legit? Or
will they think it's a Devry knockoff?
3.
Family Support - do your parents want you to go? Do they support
your decisions? Will they be willing to pay for your education?
4.
Location - is it where you want it to be? Do you like forests or
cities or does it even matter to you?
5.
Finances - can you afford it? If not, can you at least get financial
aid?
